Sexy Wedding Night Lingerie: How much is too much?

filed under: Accessories, Beauty

Every bride spends hours pouring over websites and magazines—all in search of the perfect dress for their big day. But what about the big night?

We all know how expensive wedding dresses can be! Just think of Carrie Bradshaw's Vivienne Westwood original from "Sex and the City" which retails for $25,000! You heard us. So, with that in mind, how much are you really willing to spend on your wedding night lingerie?

We found a couple of couture pieces that would surely make him melt—check ‘em out:

This lovely silk and lace set from Carnie Gilson retails for a total of $1,195 and will definitely help create a romantic mood for your evening. ($770 for the top, $425 for the lace shorts, available at: Net-a-Porter.com).

For most brides that might be a little steep, but what about this silky chemise from La Perla, that sells for $325? We find it irresistible for the girlie pink color and deep V-neck -- and we're pretty sure he won't be able to keep his hands off you either. (Net-a-Porter.com)

Or at the end of the day, would you rather slip into something like this soft t-shirt style dress that only costs $34, from Maxey. It's super short, so it will still be sexy, and it sets a more fun and playful atmosphere for your wedding night. (Bluefly.com).

Wedding Workouts: Core Fusion at Exhale Spa (Day 2)

filed under: Beauty
Corefusoion Yesterday's class was taught by Fred Devito (he's one of the creators of Core Fusion). It was upbeat, fun and he really made me push myself. Suprisingly, I'm not as sore today as I was going into the class.

Plus, I think my abs are already looking a little leaner. Heading back tonight for more torture.

Nailpolish
The one must-do bridal duty is to keep your nails looking amazing (how else will your friends admire your bling?). I'm loving these aisle-perfect polishes from Jessica Cosmetics. The names simply scream "I'm getting married."

Wouldn't you wear a polish called "kiss the bride" or "honeymoon hideaway"

Wedding Hairstyle of the Week: Haute Hatlet

filed under: Beauty
Hatlet
I know you can't really see the "hairstyle" in this picture, but trust me, the veiled hatlet is really what makes it so special. It's what transforms this simple bun into a work of art.

A word to the wise, be careful when selecting a cage veil with any ornamentation on the netting (see the white dots) those are actually embellishments and sometimes block your eyes and look funny in pictures... not this one of course!

Wedding Hairstyle of the Week: Wrapped Pony

filed under: Beauty
Pony
Let's get real, this hairstyle has been around forever— I think my sister wore a similar updo to her prom in '98, so it's practically vintage.

Though, with a few small tweaks, a wrapped ponytail can look super modern. Like with this one: the low ponytail suddenly feels elegant thanks to a little extra height at the crown.

So, the question is—  Are they wedding worthy, or better left in old prom pictures?

Wedding Makeup: This Palette is Perfection

filed under: Beauty, Dresses, Fashion
Clairep The word obsessed comes to mind when I think of this new makeup palette from Stila (it officially launches this March).

It's called Stila Loves Claire Pettibone and last week, at the Claire Pettibone Bridal Fashion Show, we got a pre-release sample in our goodie bags. I, of course, did a little test run the second I got home.

The plum colored trio (on the top right) is my favorite, the redish-purple really complements my hazel eyes.

Now, I'm no pro when it comes to applying makeup, but these colors blended seamlessly for a flawless finish.

Something Blue: Gown Inspired Bridal Beauty

filed under: Beauty, Dresses
Blue

In anticipation for the Spring 2010 Bridal Fashion Week (it starts October 16th!) I thought I'd use one of my favorite gowns from last season to show of my latest beauty obsession — blue-infused smokey shadow.

This Reem Acra dress caught my eye the minute it hit the runway. See, I'm a minimalist when it comes to everyday fashion — jeans, t-shirt, cute flats and I'm out the door, but I'm a sucker for a flirty, feminine wedding gowns (especially ones with subtle blue sashes).

Going for smokey eyes? Keep the rest of your makeup fresh and clean. Try a lip tint or sheer coverage lipstick instead of something completely opaque and opt for a blush that adds a hint of color.

Perfume Primer: Check Out This New (and Sparkly) Wedding Day Scent

filed under: Beauty
Perfume

Okay, I know I'm always saying to avoid sparkly makeup on your wedding day because it can look greasy, but there is a tiny loophole -- your perfume. This glitter body spray from Soular Therapy adds a subtle (that's the key word) shimmer without a strong scent so you can layer it with your wedding day perfume.

Or, you can go an even simpler route and just opt for a crystal studded perfume bottle. Right now I'm loving the new Nina by Nina Ricci Precious Edition scent (Macy's will have it starting October 1st). It's a rich, fresh and fruity-floral perfume and the bottle makes the perfect keepsake.
