Flower Power: Pick Petals for your Wedding Hairstylefiled under: Beauty, Wedding Hair
While I love the look of long flowing veils (and cage veils too), sparkly hair pins and crystal-studded headbands, sometimes a simple fresh flower is the perfect accent. Orchids are hearty and are always a good choice, but if don't feel like straying from your wedding flowers, just make sure you have some back up blooms on hand in case your prime pin gets damaged. I love the idea of using fresh flowers (instead of a fabric headpiece). It's so fresh and perfect for an outdoor wedding.

Sorry ladies, but as beautiful as they are, fresh flowers are a big risk for your spotlight moment. One hug too many and the petals will fall! Opt for quality fabric hair ornaments, such as this one by Everything Angelic: http://www.everything-angelic.com/flhaac.html
Erin Cole and Haute Bride also carry fab non-veil hair accessories.

Jolene makes a good point --- fresh flowers are risky, but as long as you're prepared you'll be fine. Stick with sturdier blooms and have back ups. You can always swap it out for a fake after the ceremony and pictures. I'm also a huge fan of Erin Cole and Haute Bride.
Great picks!
